CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
Mary MacKillop College offers a wide range of cultural pursuits from those impeded in the curriculum to the many co-curricular activities available for students participation. Queensland Studies Authority courses are conducted in Drama, Film and Television, Music and Art.
The College has produced a number of quality musicals including 'Annie', 'The Wiz', 'Oliver', 'Footloose' and 'Back to the 80s'. All students have the opportunity to audition for these productions and many more are involved in the backstage production.
The College conducts an annual Art Camp for students in Year 11/12 Art and Film and Television students. While biannual trips to Japan and Europe are available for all students.
Debating has been strongly supported in the College for many years and astute coaching of the many talented students has frequently resulted in competition victories. Debating is offered to students from Years 8 to 12.
The cultural program provides both depth and variety for students and includes an annual House Choral Competition where all students in the College compete against each other. This competition is held on St Joseph's Day as part of the College's celebrations.
