Preparing to Launch

The transition from Primary to Secondary school is a significant milestone in your child’s educational journey - one that can come with both excitement and uncertainty. That’s why we’ve thoughtfully designed our Preparing to Launch into Year 7 program to address these challenges with care and clarity.

The Preparing to Launch program has been specifically designed for Year 6 students with the aim to prepare and equip them with the tools and knowledge for a smooth transition into the Secondary College in Year 7.

The program offers students the opportunity to participate in activities to give them a taste of what is to come in their Secondary journey.

Come & Experience Afternoon  | Held annually in Term 3

Students and their families are invited to tour our Secondary classrooms, take part in a variety of hands-on activities, and meet key staff members. This is a fun, informal way to make the Secondary school experience clearer and more familiar. Students are supported to begin making connections.

Orientation Morning | Held annually in Term 4

This special morning helps students ease into Secondary school by meeting future classmates, connecting with Year 7 teachers, and exploring the Secondary campus in a relaxed and supportive environment. They’ll learn about timetables, classroom locations, expectations, and where to find help; all while fostering confidence and excitement. This event bridges the end of Primary and the start of Secondary school. Nerves are eased and anticipation is built for the next chapter of their learning journey.

Week 1 Program: Connection | Held annually in Term 1

The first week of the new school year for our Year 7 students is a thoughtfully structured program focused on building friendships, learning routines, and setting shared expectations. Students participate in activities and challenges that strengthen their relationships with peers and teachers. Positive classroom culture is fostered and behaviours established for learning success.

The program focuses on:

  • Connection to God;
  • Connection to teachers;
  • Connection to peers.
