Learning Support in Primary

We believe every student is uniquely created in the image of God - knitted together by His hand, fearfully and wonderfully made, and deserving of the opportunity to find meaning and purpose in Him.

"So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."
— Genesis 1:27
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
— Psalm 139:13-14
"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
— Ephesians 2:10

We believe every student deserves to be known, supported and challenged in their learning. At Cooloola Christian College, our Learning Support team partners with teachers and families to ensure that students are encouraged to engage meaningfully in their education, develop both personally and academically, and develop their God-given passions.

Support may include:

  • Individual education plans;
  • Classroom differentiation;
  • Small group instruction;
  • In-class assistance;
  • Access to specialist services such as speech therapy;
  • Targeted intervention programs designed to build key academic and life skills.

Students remain integrated within the wider school community while receiving the specific adjustments they need to flourish and grow in independence.

Learning Support Programs:
Students requiring additional support access targeted interventions such as MiniLit, MacqLit, and Learning through Doing

These are:

  • Short, focused sessions;
  • Designed to accelerate progress;
  • Aimed at transitioning students successfully back into the classroom.
